The New York Times

The Washington Post

The Washington Post newspaper is an operating division of The Washington Post Company. The Company is a diversified media company whose principal operations include newspaper and magazine publishing, television broadcasting, cable television systems, electronic information services, test preparation and educational and career services. Company headquarters are in Washington, D.C.

Los Angeles Times

The Los Angeles Times published its first edition on Dec. 4, 1881 under the name of the Los Angeles Daily Times. The newspaper's two original founders, however, soon ran out of money and the fledgling paper was inherited by its printer, the Mirror Printing Office and Book Bindery. The Mirror Company promptly began searching for an editor who could help it recoup its losses. The company soon found its man: former military officer Harrison Gray Otis. Gen. Otis invested in the paper and quickly turned it into a financial success. In 1884, he and a partner purchased the entire Times and Mirror properties and incorporated them as the Times-Mirror Company. Two years later, Otis bought out his partner. The newspaper's Web site, www.latimes.com, is one of the leading sources for national and international news and information on the World Wide Web, and the primary source of news and information for and about Southern California. In 2000, The Times became a Tribune Publishing Company when Times Mirror merged with Tribune Company.

The Japan Times

The Japan Times has been founded in 1897 and released the inaugural issue on March 22, 1897. In 1950's, it also launched the weekly magazine named "The Student Times Weekly" and "The Japan Times Weekly". Now it has a various business from newspaper, weekly magazine, travel agency to FM radio station. It has its head office at 5-4, Shinbaura 4-Chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

China Daily

China¡¯s only national English-language daily newspaper, the China Daily, which is affiliated with the State Council, has a circulation of 300,000, which reaches 150 countries worldwide.

Beijingqingnianbao (Beijing Youth Daily)

This general-interest newspaper is highly popular among young people in Beijing and its surrounding areas. Affiliated with the Beijing Council of the Communist Youth League of China, it is one of the fastest-growing newspapers in the region.

Jingjiribao (Economic Daily)

China¡¯s most influential business newspaper, Jingjiribao, which is affiliated with the State Council, represents the government¡¯s views and reports related authoritative economic news.

21Shijijingjibaodao

Affiliated with the Nanfang Daily media group, the largest of its kind in China, this newspaper, published twice a week, exerts strong influence on the Chinese economy.
