Digital Herald Inc. (CEO:
Sang-chol Lee) was founded in 2003 to offer "Korea Herald
Premium Service, " an English-language education service
for the digital generation. This integrated service, which
bundles together educational content for various types of
digital tools, brings together daily news content, audio versions
of articles, and translations of content from The Korea Herald,
as well as English-language instruction tutorials and testing
services. The service can be accessed via the Internet, multimedia-capable
mobile phones, and other high-tech digital tools, such as
PDAs and MP3 players. In 2004, Digital Herald also launched
"Herald Campus," an upgraded online and mobile education
program.
Digital Herald also operates
Korea Herald Translation Services ("KHTS"), which
provide corporate and government clients with professional
translation and interpretation services in English and Chinese.
In 2003, KHTS opened a branch in Shanghai for Chinese-language
projects and formed a joint venture with the Korean Society
of Translators to offer a standardized examination for translators.
