Herald Media will be your eyes, ears and minds.

With our heads bowed, we humbly express gratitude to our readers who have faithfully supported The Korea Herald and The Herald Business for the past 50 years. Herald Media always keeps in its heart the knowledge that our existence today is thanks solely to our readership.

The Korean media environment now faces a paradigm shift that signals the dawn of a new era. Competition is naturally always fierce among media firms, but compounding this, the industry's market fundamentals are undergoing a sea-change amidst the emergence of new media-the Internet, DMB and IPTV. For print media to survive, we believe the way forward is to produce a "newspaper sought after by the people."

Therefore, The Korea Herald and The Herald Business strive to be newspapers that do not dictate and lecture, but instead offer reader-driven information conveyed in a reader-driven format. We believe our appropriate mandate is to create a newspaper not because our reporters desire to writes stories, but because our readership desires the news content.

Towards that end, The Korea Herald and The Herald Business eschew simplistic news stories and instead offer top-notch information and deeply insightful articles in the form of a "contents-paper." Listening carefully to the people's voice, our "contents-paper" will deliver stories personally relevant to the hearts and minds of our readers. Our ceaseless efforts will never abate until we set a new industry standard and become Korea's leading "contents-paper" company.

Additionally, through our online "Herald SaengSaeng (Fresh) News," vibrant video content through "Herald TV," as well as our premium English newspaper for youths between the ages of 10 and 16 "The Junior Herald," we offer a diverse array of specialized news and information.

Our motto is "We only serve the readers." With that unwavering principle, Herald Media will be a pioneer in the emerging "ubiquitous" media environment that confronts us today. We will passionately and continuously strive to be a newspaper with the vigor and dynamism of youth, a newspaper that appeals to a broader readership base, and a "contents-paper" positioned at the forefront of the news industry. Being a trailblazer in the fields of journalism, education, and publishing; indeed, becoming Korea's leading knowledge and information provider is our company's ultimate goal.

Once again, Herald Media thanks you for your support and wishes you lasting health and happiness.
Thank you.
